Ekiti commences second phase of vaccination exercise -covid19

The Ekiti State Government has disclosed that the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination has commenced across the state, urging residents, especially those that have not been vaccinated during the first phase of the exercise, to make themselves available.

The Ekiti Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani made this known in Ado-Ekiti recently while featuring on a radio programme to sensitize the residents on the need to make themselves available for immunization against the deadly virus.

Dr. Filani explained that the Moderna vaccines are for eligible residents that haven’t received any jab of COVID-19 vaccination, stressing that anyone who has received the first dose of Astra-Zeneca vaccines should wait for the second dose that would arrive soon.

The Commissioner, who allayed the fear of the people on the groundless rumor that the vaccine has negative effects, reiterated the commitment of the state government to ensure that all residents have unfettered access to the safe and effective vaccines.

He advised residents of the state to take advantage of the government’s gesture and get vaccinated, stressing that getting immunized remains the most effective way to curtail the virus.
